The project involves the installation of a kinetic energy-powered paper recycling system stored in batteries and used as a technological laboratory in one of the rooms of the Fernando Ariztía Ruiz High School in the town of Paipote, Copiapó.
Through a working partnership with the Sembra NGO, three teachers who are now in charge of the project were trained on how to manage the “Recicleta” project.
In 2020, the project was adapted to be run remotely. Sembra produced six interactive videos that show, through tutorials, how to accomplish various crafts with recycled materials. An itinerant set of tools was also created and sent to the participants containing the materials needed to develop the contents of the videos at home. A mobile device (tablet) was included to reproduce the audiovisual capsules without requiring an Internet connection.
This project is carried out within the framework of meeting one of the voluntary commitments established in the Environmental Qualification Resolution (RCA by its Spanish acronym) of the Carrera Pinto photovoltaic park.
