Enel Generación Chile, in alliance with Asociación Sembra, annually develops the fund "Coronel Emprende" open to the entire micro-business community of Coronel’s city. Its objective is to promote the growth of local enterprises, fostering their resilience and promoting the generation of value in the territory. In its fifth version, the fund is aimed at family entrepreneurs who participated in Enel's Resettlement Plan in Coronel.
There is also a line aimed at Coronel's entrepreneurs with projects that incorporate the circular economy approach. The fund will support projects with objectives such as reuse of products with the same or different purpose or projects that seeks to extend useful life of products and goods. For example: activities and entrepreneurships based on donation or resale of unused or underused products. Also projects that recover materials already used and reintroduce them back into the production process. Example: restore or maintenance.
During the period 2017-2021, "Coronel Emprende" has strengthened 249 projects, 154 of them led by women. This program is mainly associated with Sustainable Development Goal 8 of “Decent work and economic growth”.
