This project is part of the SDG 4, 5 and 10
The Educational Scholarship Program is an initiative promoted by ENEL and approved by the communities of the families who opted to resettle because of the construction of the Ralco Hydroelectric plant. The scholarship aims to guarantee access to, continuity, and completion of the academic processes for resettled children, adolescents, and adults.
The Program allows students to successfully address issues such as accommodation, acquisition of school uniforms, fee payments, transportation, and the purchase of school supplies in general.
A total of 278 students have taken part in the program, of whom 133 were women, who make up 48% of the participants. The program also considered 3 disabled children who received the scholarship. This was made possible by the increase of social coverage that facilitated their access and permanence in the education system.
To date, 82% of the secondary-level education scholarship recipients in the El Barco and Ayin Mapu resettled communities have graduated, while 58% have decided to continue further studies.
This project, which is in line with the sustainable development objectives committed by the Company, allows Enel to enrich the community´s cultural capital and comply with the commitments made to the Ralco communities.
