Santiago 2019 Formula-E

During February, 2018, Santiago was added to the list of cities who have hosted the most exciting electric car race in the world.  The competition took place in the city streets of the capital and gathered more than 20,000 persons who enjoyed a unique spectacle in the world.

This 2019, Formula-E returns to Santiago in a new scenario: the landmark Parque O´Higgins, with the purpose of reducing the impact upon the city and delivering a high quality show for the spectators.

The Enel Group – with its presence in the country through Enel Chile and its subsidiaries – has been key to bringing this race to its customers and to all automobile car racing fanatics, who will be able to witness for the second time the future of the car racing world just meters away.

The Race

It will take place on Saturday, January 26th, 2019, starting at 16:03 on the Elipse of the Parque O'Higgins. It will last 45 minutes + one round. 22 cars shall compete, representing 11 teams.

Fanboost

Formula-E is the only car race event in the world which allows its fans to have influence upon the result of the race. Through the Fanboost platform, you may vote for your favorite pilot, giving him extra acceleration during the competition. You may participate starting 6 days before the start of the race, up to 15 minutes before the race begins. The followers may recognize the Fanboost by the fuchsia light which turns on inside the protective halo of the cabin.

Attack Mode

This new mode enables the single-seater to increase their power to 225 kW during a time period. This is achieved by passing through delimited sections, which are made known only 15 minutes before the race starts, allowing the pilot to press a control in order to receive an extra injection of power. The fans nay recognize the Attack Mode by the blue light that lights up in the protective halo of the cabin.

 

The experience

Formula-E offers entertainment to the whole family.  In addition to access for watching the race, the fans may live through different experiences in order to learn information on the competition and electric mobility The E-Village shall be the epicenter of the activities, where there shall be food, rest and entertainment areas.

Enel Stand
Our Stand will be located inside the E-Village, and will include the exhibition of Enel X products and surprises for those attending.
Recharge zone
The space shall include a rest area also for people to recharge their energy. Additionally, there will be Enel X battery chargers for cell phones, which will enable those attending to continue their connection, taking advantage of the journey from start to finish.
Kid's zone
For the small size fans, there will be an area dedicated to learning, exploration and discovery, where they may create their own car games.
Peak Technology

The Formula-E 2019 is bringing to Chile the most modern technological advances in electric-mobility in the world. Enel X is playing an essential role as the “Official Smart Charging Partner” for the 11 teams. The “Supercharger” allows charging the single-seater 7 times faster than in 2018, that is, in approximately 45 minutes. Moreover, the new Generación 2 (Gen2) model represents a big leap in the performance of the cars. Their power storage capacity has doubled, allowing them to finish the race without needing to change the vehicle. The Gen 2 has 250kW of power to accelerate from 0 to 100 k/h in just 2.8 seconds and to reach speeds of 280 k/h.
