Sierra Gorda Este Wind Farm

The Sierra Gorda Este wind farm is in the same name, approximately 60 kilometers from Calama's city in the Antofagasta Region.

Sierra Gorda Este has a total installed capacity of 112 MW. It generates more than 295 GWh per year, equivalent to the annual consumption needs of some 130,000 Chilean households, thus avoiding the emission of more than 140,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.

The park is connected to the 220 KV Minera Sierra Gorda substations through a 38-kilometer transmission line. The energy generated is injected into the Central Interconnected System's electrical network.
