The Rapel power plant is owned by Enel Generación Chile S.A. and is located on Route H62G, Km 60 Litueche, O'Higgins Region. It was inaugurated on June 21, 1968, and is considered the first large Chilean hydroelectric power plant and a source of pride for national engineering, due to the different challenges overcome during its development and the large number of man-hours, a total of 4 million, used for its construction. It has an installed capacity of 375 MW.
