Santiago, October 11, 2019 –  The Santiago Club Hípico received the Green Seal from Enel Green Power Chile, which accredits that an amount equal to the annual energy consumption for its operations is being injected into the system with 100% renewable energies from the power plants of Enel Green Power Chile. In this way, the Santiago Club Hípico becomes the first Chilean company of its kind to receive this seal.

The company's facilities will be supplied with 1,000 MWh of power each year, according to consumption that began to be measured this past July 1st.

“Our objective at the Enel Group is not only to supply energy, but also to offer comprehensive solutions, advisory to our customers, and the opportunity to get green-seal certified, just like Club Hípico has done today. Renewable energies play an important part in the Chilean energy matrix and will continue to grow and gain a leading role. Club Hípico shares the same sustainability standards as the Enel Group, and that is confirmed with the signing of this agreement,” states Víctor Tavera, Market Manager for Enel Distribución Chile, the company that signed the commercial agreement with the Santiago Club Hípico.

This certification meets consumers’ growing demand for companies that are increasingly concerned about the environment and place sustainability at the core of their business strategy.

“This initiative comes at a time in which Chile is a global leader in terms of the promotion of renewable energies. Therefore, Enel Green Power Chile, Enel Distribution and the Santiago Club Hípico Santiago have become strategic partners in their shared commitment to the environment and energy efficiency,” claims James Stancampiano, CEO of Enel Green Power Chile.

The introduction of ecological seals reflects companies’ growing interest in integrating renewable energies within their industrial and/or commercial processes.

“Today we are the first equestrian center in Latin America that can say that 100% of our energy comes from renewable sources, and that shows our commitment to the environment and the development of our activities in a way that positively impacts our community and members,” highlights Juan Pablo Lira, CEO of Club Hípico.

Enel Green Power is the global business line of the Enel Group dedicated to the development and operation of renewable energies around the world, with presence in Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and Oceania.
