Wednesday, February 26, 2025 - "Regarding the large-scale power outage that occurred on February 25, 2025, which affected nearly the entire national territory from Arica to Los Lagos, we would like to address its impact on customers of Enel Distribución Chile S.A. ("Enel Distribución Chile"). In response to this disconnection in the transmission system, Enel Distribución Chile quickly implemented a series of measures to mitigate the effects of the outage on electro-dependent customers. The following are some of the key actions taken:
- We have proactively called all electro-dependent customers registered with Enel Distribución Chile several times. As of the date of this communication, there are 2,602 registered electro-dependent patients.
- Enel Distribución Chile has strengthened all customer service channels, particularly the priority service exclusively for electro-dependent customers. This enhancement enabled the company to manage a significant number of customer calls. For calls from electro-dependent customers that were not addressed immediately, Enel Distribución Chile followed up with them afterward.
- Generator equipment and backup batteries ensure the electricity supply for customers relying on electrical power. Enel Distribución Chile had 40 crews dedicated exclusively to this task.
- Enel Distribución Chile promptly reported on social networks and its website to facilitate contact with electro-dependent customers.
- Enel Distribución Chile coordinated activities with municipalities in the concession area to transfer electro-dependent customers with more complex health conditions to healthcare centers. Additionally, these patients and their caretakers were advised via email, SMS, and automatic calls that if their health conditions require it, they should be moved to a healthcare facility due to potential uncertainties regarding the duration of power outages.
As of the date of this communication, Enel Distribución Chile has no information regarding the death of any individual registered in the company's Electro-dependents Register."
