Santiago, May 21, 2024—Since midday yesterday, severe weather and wind conditions have been affecting the Metropolitan Region. This has caused several service interruptions caused by falling trees and branches on the power lines caused by winds reaching 44 km/hour. At 06:30 hours, 18,092 customers remained without power supply, representing less than 1% of Enel Distribución's total customers. Lampa, Maipú, and Huechuraba are the most affected municipalities.
Thanks to remote monitoring operations and on-site technical teams, many customer disruptions gradually recovered as reinforcements increased up to seven times more than on an average day and five times for our customer service channels.
Customers registered as electro-dependent have been prioritized and have access to preferential telephone assistance for on-site generator installations. Yesterday and today, 89 units were delivered.
Enel Distribución will continue working and maintaining its operational capacity to provide on-site assistance until supply to all its customers is restored.
