The Center for Operational Excellence (CEL) is already taking its first steps. This high-tech training and education center is specialized in the electric sector, focusing on job safety and the quality of services offered by Enel Distribución and Enel X. Currently, the practice areas in Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, Commercial Grid Operations and Enel X service installations are active.
The Center, which looks to position itself as the first electric training space in Chile, is open to the general public and offers training on real-world scale job techniques, for the purpose of improving the technical quality of fieldwork and the safety of workers and contractors, so as to enhance the quality of service.
The Medium and Low Voltage practice areas or “patios” have the necessary equipment and installations to train workers under conditions that mimic real life. Moreover, the Medium and Low Voltage underground electric system helps impart and reinforce knowledge on system channeling, chambers, vaults, and specific equipment.
On the other hand, the topics to be covered in the Low Voltage patio include training on technical and work safety procedures for all processes involved in commercial grid operations. These include the reading and installation of meters, leak control inspections, and the construction of technical measurements.
The Enel X patio offers training on the installation and testing of air conditioning and solar power products, energy efficiency services for companies and real estate, the transfer of grids and installation of street lights, among others. Likewise, participants can get training on the implementation of charging station infrastructure for electric vehicles, to be installed throughout the country.
The Center for Operational Excellence has already begun training work crew members in order to better prepare professionals for performing the essential jobs our city requires.
