Pablo Cabrera holds a Law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, as well as an academic degree from the Andrés Bello Diplomatic Academy (Santiago, Chile).
He is a member of the Chilean Society of International Law, advisor to the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Chilean National Defense and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Between 2010 and 2014, he was Director of the Andrés Bello Diplomatic Academy, a Chilean institution dedicated to training new national diplomats. He was also a professor at the Universidad Diego Portales and the National Academy of Political and Strategic Studies, an institution of higher learning overseen by the Ministry of National Defense.
Mr. Cabrera has held various diplomatic and government positions. He was the Chilean Ambassador to the Holy See (2006 to 2010), to the Sovereign Order of Malta (2006 to 2010), to the People’s Republic of China (2004 to 2006), and to the Russian Federation (2000 to 2004). He was also Concurrent Ambassador in Albania and Ukraine and Ambassador to the United Kingdom (1999 to 2000) while also serving as Concurrent Ambassador to Ireland. He was also the Undersecretary of the Navy in the Ministry of National Defense (1995 to 1999).
