Faced with the undergoing drought scenario in the central area of the country, the question arose as to how to contribute to the creation of awareness and for the optimization in the use of water by Enel Generación’s San Isidro Power Plant processes. The project consists in transporting liquid industrial waste from the operation of the San Isidro power plant for its use in other industrial processes, allowing the reuse of these wastes that are currently discharged into the Aconcagua River, and obtaining environmental, social and economic benefits towards the plant’s sustainability.
Disposing and reusing the San Isidro liquid industrial waste in other industrial processes enables to improve the circularity of the process, thanks to the conversion of waste into an input for another process, responding to the Circular Economy pillar "New Life Cycles."
