Energy autonomy turns neighborhood centers in Loncura into hubs of community support

Energy available when it's most needed

Energy autonomy will enable facilities to serve as community hubs during emergencies like earthquakes, tsunamis, or other crises. In these spaces, neighbors can perform vital tasks such as charging phones, heating water, or briefly powering equipment that needs electricity.

José Miguel Carrera, representing the El Bosque de Loncura Neighborhood Council, sees this autonomy as tangible support for local families.

The adoption of solar panels also addresses a desire voiced by local social organizations. For residents, achieving greater energy independence has been a key goal, and this is now starting to become reality.
