It was an unexpected surprise for Ignacio Espinoza, a 17-year-old from Pichidegua. He arrived at the offices of Enel in Santa Rosa to receive, from the hands of the CEO of Enel Francesco Starace, a professional bicycle with which he is representing Chile in the UCI Road World Championships.
Ignacio's story is one of sacrifice and effort that, like many other Chilean athletes, required tenacity and personal push to get to where it is. His passion for this sport began at age 11 and today he travels daily to train, from Pichidegua to Talca.
In the opportunity, Enel not only gave the new bike to Ignacio, but also announced they will be part of "Gran Fondo Fin del Mundo", bicycle race that is has been taking place in Chile since 2014 and that next October 21th will tour the Maule Basin, where Enel has significant generation assets.
Last September 12th, Ignacio left for Europe to demonstrate all his talent in the world cradle of cycling.
