40 years, 14 Institutes
Teletón is the greatest undertaking ever carried out for disabled children and young people in Chile. The important contribution that it has meant for the country goes beyond the rehabilitation work, it has sensitized our society around the dignity of disabled people and their rights.
Currently 97% of the child and adolescent population with motor disabilities is looked after in the Teletón institutes. Currently, more than 3,000 new patients enter and more than 729,000 medical and therapeutic interventions are carried out. In this way, and thanks to the contribution of hundreds of organizations and thousands of citizens, our country counts with 14 rehabilitation institutes spread out throughout the length of Chile.
