Use lights that are certified by the Superintendencia de Electricidad y Combustibles
Buy thick cord garlands, thin ones will cut, crack or melt
If you use the same ones from last year, make sure the cables do not have cuts or cracks
Avoid overheating. Do not overload your house’s electrical installation with excessive Christmas decorations.
Avoid decorating the trees of the outdoor gardens. Irrigation increases the probability of electrocution.
Check your extension cords and your power strips. They can overload and be an electrocution risk to people and pets.
