Santiago on January 25, 2024. The MTS corporate building in the Cerrillos district recently inaugurated its new sustainable facilities, which Enel X implemented. This reflects the company's commitment to sustainability and its vast network of associates. The solar parking lot, featuring biodiversity (Biocarport Sustentable), and the photovoltaic plant are new technologies that allow MTS to operate more efficiently, resulting in significant economic savings and being more environmentally friendly.

The solar parking lot can accommodate up to 20 vehicles and has two charging points for electric cars. It is equipped with a photovoltaic system that generates 17 kWp of power, made up of 38 high-efficiency panels. The design of the parking lot includes having high vegetation on the roof, which integrates perfectly with the devices that inject clean energy into the system. This innovative and eco-friendly solution is an excellent example of how we can use technology to create a sustainable future.

"Green roofs" are roofs that have vegetation growing on them. They are beneficial for mitigating greenhouse gases, regulating urban temperature, reducing CO2 in the environment, and controlling pollution and contamination.

Additionally, having vegetation in high-rise buildings increases oxygen levels, provides more green areas per inhabitant, and adds landscaping to areas often dominated by glass, iron, and concrete.

Enel X has installed a 280 kWp solar photovoltaic plant on the rooftop of the MTS corporate building. The plant comprises 630 high-efficiency 450 Wp panels and a real-time monitoring system for efficient energy management. It will generate an estimated 406.27 MWh of energy per year, contributing to the plant's electricity generation while reducing consumption tariffs.

"As MTS Network, this photovoltaic project represents realizing our sustainable goals. It marks the start of a new challenge that will enable us to expand our fleet of electric machinery, promote electromobility, and, most importantly, use clean energy to power it. This is a testament to MTS's commitment to the future." Felipe Salce, MTS Marketing Manager.

The implementation of both systems at MTS facilities will result in the reduction of 170.1 tons of CO2 emissions annually, which is equivalent to planting 425 trees. Additionally, installing electric vehicle chargers is expected to motivate MTS employees, customers, and suppliers to accelerate the replacement of their combustion vehicles with hybrid and/or electric vehicles. This will provide charging convenience for those who have switched to electric vehicles.

Claudio Candia, Enel X Industries Manager, stated that this initiative demonstrates the path towards corporate sustainability and reflects a common and shared vision. This vision is more conscious of climate change and incorporates technologies that will significantly save MTS's operations.
