  • These stations are added to over 100 already installed in Chile and are part of the “ElectroRuta Enel X,” the e-mobility project which considers the installation of 1,200 charging stations throughout the country over the next 5 years.

Santiago, November 19, 2020 – The “ElectroRuta Enel X” keeps going. This time, in alliance with Tánica Inmobiliaria, they inaugurated two new electric charging stations at the company's corporate offices in Vitacura.

These charging stations are JuicePole models with two 22kW outlets that can charge two e-vehicles at the same time. To use the technology, e-vehicle owners must install the Enel X “JuicePass” app on their mobile phone to book a charging station and monitor the charging level in real time, among other features.

“The ElectroRuta Enel X project continues to be deployed throughout Chile, with the goal of connecting the country through the installation of 1,200 electric charging stations. These two new charging stations located at the Tánica Inmobiliaria Lo Recabarren campus are proof that we are continuing to create alliances that enable us to fulfill our commitment to expand e-mobility,”, explains Karla Zapata, CEO of Enel X Chile.

To date, and within the framework of the Enel X “ElectroRuta” project, a total of 114 charging stations have been installed throughout Chile, while the eventual installation of 1,200 charging stations is expected to be connect the country across 5,000 kilometers from North to South, guaranteeing the autonomy and continuing operation of electric cars.

“The new TÁNICA Inmobiliaria Lo Recabarren campus, with its corporate buildings and B Office building, further confirms Tánica as a pioneer in topics of sustainability. Both buildings are LEED Gold certified. This is seen in the facade study to improve energy efficiency and climate control systems installed in each building. Moreover, the building's architectural design promotes the healthy use of its stairs, which are directly connected to the building's facade to provide natural light and a more pleasurable and friendly experience,” says Raúl Molina, Real Estate Manager for Tánica.

Chile currently has 900 electric cars, and this figure is projected to increase to 81,000 by 2026. Thus, ElectroRuta Enel X will cover over 50% of the charging infrastructure required by these cars, projecting one charging station for every 60 kilometers of highways in Chile.

The Enel X Plan, based on smart charging solutions, is aimed at meeting its customers’ different needs through the implementation of technologies that enable vehicle battery charging at different speeds and in different places. These are modular, scalable and turnkey solutions designed for individuals, companies and institutions.
