- This new infrastructure marks another milestone for electromobility in Chile by making EV charging stations available along concession highways.
Santiago, October 10, 2019 – To continue to promote electromobility in the country, while helping decontaminate cities and caring for the environment, is one of the main objectives of Enel X. For this reason, it has signed a collaboration agreement with Globalvia Autopista del Aconcagua, which manages the section of Route 5 North between Santiago and Los Vilos, to implement and put into operation EV fast charging stations.
Initially, there will be 4 fast chargers (AC and DC multi-standard charging stations of up to 50 kW) that will be installed in general service areas along the Route 5 concession, between Santiago and Los Vilos.

“In order for electric vehicles to be able to operate, the necessary electric infrastructure is required to supply their energy. With this purpose in mind, we are continuing to increase the number of charging stations across the country with a plan to install 1,200 chargers over the next 5 years. Therefore, this collaboration agreement with Globalvia Autopista del Aconcagua is fundamental for our continuing progress,” explains Karla Zapata, CEO of Enel X Chile.
