Enel X Way Chile created to promote e-mobility in the country

Santiago, May 2, 2022. On May 1st, Enel X Way Chile was legally constituted as the new subsidiary of Enel Chile and Enel X Way SpA dedicated entirely to sustainable e-mobility with a focus on developing flexible mobility and electrical charging technologies and solutions to improve the customer experience and support the electrification of transport for consumers, companies, and cities.

The creation of this new company was approved in the Enel Chile shareholders’ assembly held this past April 27th, and the articles of incorporation are effective as of May 1st. Its ownership structure is composed of 49% held by Enel Chile and 51% by Enel X Way SpA.

With Enel X Way, our mission is to accelerate electromobility for all,” explains Jean Paul Zalaquett, CEO of Enel X Way Chile.

The new global line of business of the Enel Group, Enel X Way, is dedicated to electromobility and is already active in 17 countries across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, managing 32,000 public and private charging stations both directly and through interoperability agreements. This new global line has significant presence in the European markets, and particularly in Italy, Spain, and Romania. In the United States, the company is one of the key players in the national charging station market, while in Latin America, it is a leader in electric vehicle charging technology and services and in the electrification of all types of fleets.
