Alto Biobío, September 24, 2026 – Enel Generación reports that, given current weather conditions -which have caused a natural but significant increase in the inflows feeding the reservoirs of its Ralco and Pangue hydroelectric power plants- it will begin opening the spillway gates at both facilities starting today, Thursday, September 24.
These actions are part of the normal operation of the aforementioned reservoirs, as they are nearing their maximum operating levels and the inflow rates exceed the maximum turbinable flow.
The operations described above have been coordinated with and previously reported to the relevant authorities, including those responsible for watershed management, the National Electric System, and the operation of our reservoirs.
We ask residents in the area -especially those living along the riverbanks downstream from our power plant, as well as tourists- to take all necessary precautions and stay away from riverbeds and spillway areas to avoid dangerous situations.
