  • The initiative, promoted by GNL Quintero and Enel Generación Chile, has been contributing to the development of social and community organizations in Quintero for the past 15 years. During this entire period, it has supported the execution of over 580 projects.

Quintero, August 14, 2023. A total of 31 community projects were selected in the 2023 Quintero Grant Funds contest, promoted by GNL Quintero and Enel Generación Chile, with the support of Asociación Sembra.

The funds will help bring to life different initiatives designed by a number of social and community organizations from Quintero and Puchuncavi, and linked to the implementation and promotion of renewable energies, protection of the environment, and the development of tourism, culture, and sports, in a process that included ongoing advisory by Asociacion Sembra during the design and application phases.

In 2023, the Quintero Contest Funds celebrated their 15th anniversary, and over this period, it has helped bring to life different types of initiatives that directly benefit the community. In total, 583 projects have received over 730 million pesos in funding.

Felipe Manriquez, Assistant Manager of Corporate Affairs for GNL Quintero notes that “In the past 15 years, we have seen a wide diversity of projects come to life, and witnessed their impact over time and how applicants have been designing increasingly innovative and ambitious initiatives. This is proof that there are social organizations in Quintero and Puchuncaví that are strong and increasingly committed to their communities and neighbors. In this sense, we are proud of the fact that the Grant Funds have been able to contribute their grain of salt in this process. And of course, it is our commitment to continue supporting these initiatives.”

Meanwhile, Montserrat Palomar, Sustainability and Community Relations Manager for Enel Chile mentions that, through this program, the company wants to keep contributing to a better quality of life for Quintero's residents. “We hope to make a tangible contribution to the development of the territories where we operate, and initiatives like this allow us to maintain that commitment. We are also very pleased to see the community's interest in this process and to see how, thanks to these new funds, they continue to grow their business ventures,” she added.

The Quintero Grant Funds cover three lines of work: Social Organizations, Micro SMEs, and Excellence, in order to directly and indirectly benefit around 2,000 people from different organizations, such as neighborhood associations, sporting clubs, Firefighters, entrepreneurs, and outstanding athletes, among others.
