Santiago, August 23, 2023. Today, the controlled discharge maneuvers continue in the Rapel reservoir to cushion downstream the impact of the natural flooding of the affluents. The Rapel reservoir is receiving a flow of about 5,000 m3/s. Therefore, the water discharge in the morning has increased to approximately 3,500 m3/s. The discharge is continuously re-evaluated during the day following the evolution of the rainfall and the tributary watercourses.

The discharge maneuvers have been reported to the corresponding authorities, as well as all the management of our reservoirs during weather fronts, which is periodically reviewed according to the evolution of weather forecasts, allowing the adoption of the necessary measures to protect the safety of people and nearby communities.

Enel Generación calls on the area's neighbors to stay away from watercourses and discharge areas to avoid risk situations.
