Therefore, the Rapel power plant must bolster its preventative strategy initiated yesterday to reduce the Rapel reservoir levels and thus reduce flooding impacts on downstream communities. The overflow should reach a higher level early on Tuesday 22nd.
Enel Generación appeals to residents, especially those living in Rapel de Navidad and Santo Domingo areas such as Horizonte del Mar and Rinconada de San Enrique, to take all the necessary precautions and to stay away from watercourses and spill areas to avoid risky situations.
