Santiago, August 3, 2024 - Enel Distribución reported that as of 7:00 p.m. today, supply had been restored to more than 420 thousand customers, representing a 52.9% recovery compared to the peak of the emergency, early Friday morning when more than 794 thousand homes were affected.
Around 150 thousand customers are expected to be recovered tomorrow, Sunday, and this Monday, most of the medium voltage failures are expected to be resolved to focus the work on the pending domestic cases.
According to the records of the Meteorological Directorate of Chile, the wind reached gusts of up to 124 km/hour in some parts of the capital. The wind, added to the accumulated water, caused the fall of nearly 2,000 trees, the cutting of power lines, the breaking of poles, and damage to electrical infrastructure, which has involved extensive and complex work.
The company has all its technical teams deployed in the field, with more than 200 on-site crews to attend to as many cases as possible and normalize the service as soon as possible.
Customers registered as electro-dependent have received priority attention. They have access to preferential telephone attention for the installation of generators in their homes. Between Thursday night and today at 7:00 p.m., 236 sets have been delivered, while registered customers have been actively receiving calls offering assistance.
Enel Distribución will continue working, maintaining its operational capacity in the field and reinforcing its customer service channels until it recovers the supply of all its customers.
