Santiago, May 8, 2024 – Enel Distribución reports that due to the wind, rain, and snow weather front recorded yesterday, there were several supply interruptions within its concession area in the Metropolitan Region. At 07:00 hours, about 32 thousand customers are without supply, located in the municipalities of Lo Barnechea, Pudahuel, and Lampa, who are being assisted to normalize services as soon as possible.
A considerable number of customer disruptions have been gradually restored thanks to remote monitoring operations and on-site technical teams, which have been reinforced up to 6 times more than on an average day.
Chile's Meteorological Directorate recorded winds of up to 50 km/hour in various sectors of the capital, added to the rainfall that exceeded 50 mm, and snowfall in Santiago's eastern zone caused trees and large branches to fall on power lines, which have implied extensive and complex works to normalize the outages.
Customers registered as electro-dependent have been prioritized. Preferential telephone assistance is available to install generators. In total, 106 units were delivered between yesterday and today at 07:00 hours.
Enel Distribución will continue working, maintaining its maximum operational capacity of field service until the power supply is restored to all its customers.
