Santiago, September 28, 2023. We regret the death of an individual today who was electrocuted while attempting to steal cables from an underground medium-voltage chamber in Pudahuel.
The safety protections of the electrical network operated correctly, immediately interrupting the electrical supply. However, unfortunately, the initial electric shock led to the fatal outcome.
We emphasize that these actions pose a serious risk to those attempting to steal cables and also affect the quality of electrical service for the neighboring community.
There has been a rise in this type of crime during recent years in the communities within our concession zone. In the first half of the year alone we recorded more than 400 cases.
