Santiago, March 5, 2026 – Amid an increasingly extreme climate situation, Enel Chile and the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) signed a groundbreaking public-private partnership to enhance and strengthen their joint emergency response efforts management.
The ceremony took place at the Senapred building and was led by the National Director of Senapred, Alicia Cebrián, and the General Manager of Enel Chile, Gianluca Palumbo. During the event, it was emphasized that this agreement marks a milestone by establishing a cooperation model that combines public-private operational coordination and enhances collaboration with the involved emergency institutions response.
The agreement, which includes an annual work plan, will facilitate coordinated joint actions for preparation, mitigation, response, and recovery in the face of emergencies that could affect the power supply. All of this aims to support timely and effective management, in accordance with current electrical regulations, for the safety of the population well-being.
Within this framework, both parties agree to work together in a coordinated and proactive way within their respective areas of expertise. They will engage in joint planning and training sessions and enhance risk communication to better prepare for potential contingencies.
This partnership will enable coordinated support, leveraging available resources to implement measures and actions outlined by the Disaster Risk Management Committees (COGRID), whether at the national or regional level, depending on the emergency’s scope.
The Enel Group's initiative was led by its Global Security department, which coordinated with Senapred at the local level, resulting in a successful public-private partnership.
