Enel Chile Board of Directors Announces New Company CEO

Santiago, May 28, 2025. The Board of Directors of Enel Chile issued a material event disclosure this afternoon to announce that the company’s current CEO, Giuseppe Turchiarelli, has submitted his resignation to take on a new role within the Enel Group. His resignation will take effect on July 1st.

Giuseppe Turchiarelli took over as CEO of Enel Chile in 2024, after having served as the company’s CFO for four and a half years.

Enel Chile Chairman of the Board, Marcelo Castillo, states: “I really want to thank Giuseppe for his leadership during a particularly challenging period for our company. His tenure was marked by progress in the decarbonization of our energy matrix, including the commissioning of the Group’s first battery projects in Chile and the Los Cóndores hydroelectric plant. In the Distribution business, he promoted a reform to sector regulations aimed at encouraging the investments needed to build more resilient networks. I also want to highlight Giuseppe’s drive to implement a major investment plan focused on improving quality of service.”

The Board has appointed Gianluca Palumbo as the new CEO of Enel Chile. He is currently serving as Global Manager of Construction, Operation, and Maintenance at Enel Grids. Gianluca Palumbo holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II. He first joined the Enel Group in 1996 and has held several positions, including Head of Distribution Operations in Italy and Global Manager of Grid Development, Planning, and Control. He was CEO of EDESUR, Enel Group’s distribution company in Argentina, and is still a member of its board of directors. He will assume his role as CEO of Enel Chile starting July 1st.
