Enel Chile board of directors appoints Paolo Pallotti as the company’s new CEO

  • The board of directors appointed Paolo Pallotti as Enel Chile’s new CEO, who will assume his functions as of October 1.
  • Nicola Cotugno, current CEO of the electric company, will continue in office until September 30th, to then take on new tasks in the Enel Group.

 

Santiago, September 27, 2018. Enel Chile’s Board of Directors informed the market that the company’s current CEO, Nicola Cotugno, will leave his post in the country as of September 30. The executive, who performed for nearly two years at the head of the power company, shall take on new tasks in the Enel Group. The current manager of administration, finance, and control of Enel Americas, Paolo Pallotti was appointed to replace him.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Enel Chile, Herman Chadwick, thanked Nicola Cotugno for his management. "I want to highlight the full commitment and leadership that Nicola Cotugno assumed during his tenure, which allowed this company to meet important objectives, such as the Elqui plan and the reorganization process. Undoubtedly, he will continue to play an important role in the upcoming challenges he assumes for the Enel Group," said Herman Chadwick who also had words for Paolo Pallotti, who will assume this new challenge: "We look forward with energy and confidence in the work we will develop, to continue in our leadership position," he said.

Enel Chile’s Board of Directors informed that Paolo Pallotti will assume as the new CEO of the firm as of October 1. Mr. Pallotti holds a degree in electronic engineering from the Università Degli Studi di Ancona and joined the Enel Group in 1990. He was manager of administration, finance, and control in the Infrastructures and Networks Division, a division of Enel that included, among others, Enel Distribuzione SpA, the main operator of the Italian distribution system and was later promoted to the position of manager of administration, finance, and control for the entire Enel Group business in Italy. Since February 2018, he has served as manager of administration, finance, and control of Enel Americas.

Nicola Cotugno took over as Enel Chile’s CEO, on August 16, 2016. Among the milestones that stand out during his tenure is the Group’s change of brand in Chile, completed at the end of November 2016, as well as the process of execution of the Elqui plan that implied a corporate reorganization to merge the Chilean assets of Enel Green Power Latin America S.A. by incorporation into Enel Chile. In addition, the executive contributed to promoting electric mobility in Chile, introducing several alternatives into the market to make this idea a reality.
