- The 'Energy in Your Neighborhood' program will expand in 2026 and will cover the entire concession area in the Metropolitan Region. During May, it was present in San Ramón and Pedro Aguirre Cerda, benefiting nearly 2,000 customers with infrastructure improvements and assistance with inquiries in their own neighborhoods.
Enel Distribución has resumed its 'Energy in Your Neighborhood' program, an initiative that, since 2025, has allowed residents to get a close look at the work of crews on the streets of the capital. In this way, people can accompany the technicians as they perform preventive maintenance on the electrical networks and, at the same time, quickly and directly manage commercial procedures at a mobile office.
During the second half of last year, the program was conducted in nine communes in the Metropolitan Region, including Huechuraba, Maipú, Cerro Navia, and Pudahuel. In 2026, the company aims to reach all 33 communes within its concession area gradually. Thus, during May, it was already conducted in the communes of San Ramón and Pedro Aguirre Cerda.
Among the technical tasks that neighbors can observe are tree pruning, pole repairs, circuit inspections, and the replacement of electrical infrastructure components, all of which are essential to maintaining a safe and reliable electricity supply. But in addition to witnessing the work, the community can find out about the benefits of replacing their meter with a digital device, check the details of their electricity bills, or learn about the procedure to register an electro-dependent patient in the company's records.
The program will continue its deployment throughout 2026, with the aim of strengthening the electrical grid and bringing the company closer to the communities.
Winter Plan 2026
In addition to conducting ongoing preventive maintenance, such as in the 'Energy in Your Neighborhood' operations, Enel Distribution is implementing an action plan to strengthen the network and take preventive measures in anticipation of weather events during the colder, wetter months of the year.
Among the measures are the installation of 440 new remote control units from January to May, which allows the network to be operated remotely, faults to be isolated, and affected areas to be identified, restoring the electricity supply without the immediate need to deploy teams to the field. This is complemented by the addition of smart sensors in distribution transformers, which can monitor their condition in real time.
Regarding operational reinforcement on the ground, more than 350 crews will be available, with scheduled activities strengthened and contractor personnel trained to integrate quickly into emergency plans.
