- The stadium is a place where children and adults can have fun and enjoy one of the country's most popular sports, soccer. Unfortunately, not everyone gets the chance to go and watch their favorite teams play.
Communities served by Enel Distribución, neighbors, mainly boys and girls from the district of Independencia belonging to different social organizations, visited the Santa Laura Stadium to watch the match between Universidad Católica and Cobresal. The activity was possible thanks to the invitation from Cruzados, Enel Group Chile's "energy partner" involved in building the new San Carlos de Apoquindo stadium.
The activity promotes sports and a healthy lifestyle while joining other initiatives carried out by the company related to sustainability, education, and energy efficiency, all of which aim at improving the quality of life of local communities.
"We have a community engagement strategy in Independencia with specific actions to tackle communal territorial challenges in 20 social organizations and ten educational establishments. The plan follows a public-private strategy involving initiatives on climate change and energy efficiency. Also, recreational and sports activities such as this instance where we share and enjoy soccer with neighbors,” said Eduardo Pereira, Sustainability Specialist at Enel Distribución.
