Enel Distribución, in a collaborative partnership with the Municipality of Estación Central, began renovating streetlights in five neighborhoods of the commune as part of the path towards a just energy transition.
The objective is to recover public spaces for families through a more efficient and safe lighting system that encourages sports, safety, and recreational activities in this essential meeting point for neighbors and children of the community.
The Renovation and Delivery of Lighting Systems in Multipurpose Courts 2023 project began with the Centro Cultural, Artístico y Deportivo Exploradores Cóndor de Maipú, which, through this intervention, will save more than 1900 kWh of electrical energy annually, thus reducing operating costs and avoiding 750 kg of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
In the coming months, four other facilities will join the project, belonging to the Juntas de Vecinos Villa Las Américas, Despierta Nogales, Altarcillo, and Club Deportivo Los Leones.
Nearly 40,000 people will participate in this project, allowing them to save energy, reduce maintenance costs and reduce environmental impact.
