After a competitive bid process organized by the Ministry of National Assets on more than 3,300 total hectares of land for the development of new renewable energy projects in the regions of Tarapacá, Antofagasta and Atacama, Enel Green Power Chile was awarded over 2,500 hectares to use in the development of new solar plants and storage systems, expected to contribute more than 1,700 MW of clean energy to the National Electric System.
With the awarding of these lands, the company reaffirms its mission to promote a fair energy transition along with a cleaner energy matrix, through a new portfolio of renewable projects and contributing to the country’s economic growth. All of this is aligned with the strategic plan of Enel Chile and its subsidiaries to add 2.4 GW of clean energy by 2023.
Northern Chile is a strategic spot for development thanks to its exceptional renewable resources and public policies aimed at promoting the development of renewable energies and the green hydrogen industry.
