- Upon completion of the second bid process issued by the Ministry of National Assets, Enel Green Power Chile was awarded over 1500 hectares to be used for new renewable energy projects.
The Ministry of National Assets finalized the second process of the Bids Plan, which was aimed at developing renewable energies in 16 plots of land located in the regions of Tarapacá, Antofagasta and Atacama. Enel Green Power Chile was awarded two of these for a total surface area of 1,585 hectares in the region of Antofagasta, which will be used for the development of renewable energy projects in the region, corresponding to two solar plants for a total of approximately 750 MW.
The Bids Plan prepared by the Ministry of National Assets was focused on promoting renewable energy. The awarding of these lands brings about two new projects to be developed in the area, which will be added to 7 other multiple-technology renewable energy plants for a total of 665 MW and 3 other new plants in construction for a total of 214 MW, held by Enel Green Power Chile in the region of Antofagasta
James Lee Stancampiano, CEO of Enel Green Power Chile highlighted the importance of the awarding of these lands, which will allow them "to continue forward with the energy transition. Another 750 MWp in solar projects to keep consolidating the growth of the Enel Group's renewable energy in Chile."
